A homage to Literature and Latte’s Scrivener writers’ software
I could not have got this far without the best software I ever used: Scrivener. I bought this when it first appeared for the PC last December and have become an evangelist for it. I had been writing my book for several years and was losing heart, dragging myself around a huge unwieldy set of Word documents, struggling with editing, formatting, and unwanted duplications. Quite frankly it has transformed what had become an unpleasant task, into what is now a sheer delight. I wake up each day excited about spending time with Scrivener. I regularly export my 100,000+ words draft book to my Kindle, so I can see just what the readers will see, and spot those hidden typos. Scrivener can provide a range of e-book output formats, including .epub and .mobi (the Kindle format), in addition to all regular .pdf and .doc etc. formats.
Scrivener is without doubt the best value software that I ever bought (and I have bought a lot). It only costs ~£30 for the Windows version. To think of the hours I wasted messing with formatting in Word when I should have been creatively writing, and had forgotten the sudden spark of inspiration that I was about to write. Scrivener is free for 30 non-consecutive days, you could even get a short book written in that time! How to self publish quickly
I have no connection with the company, but I Love Scrivener!
If you don’t believe me, read the reviews by all the successful authors who now use it. If you do get the program, whatever you do, watch the video tutorial before you start
