Andrea Avosani: Can We Learn Like the Matrix?
It explores the validity of claims made in a study from HRL Labs suggesting that better and faster learning is possible via electrical brain stimulation. The study cited cases of novel pilots who improved their flying skills after just a few days of stimulation.
Some newspapers compared it to the Matrix movie, where the knowledge got uploaded right into the brain. Even popular sites such as Popular Mechanics, Mirror, Huffington Post, Telegraph and many more reported the same news. But is it really true says Andrea? in his article (which kindly references Bottleneck).
My own view is that the HRL Labs study fails to provide sufficient evidence, and does not match the hype.
